Short courses for humanitarian professionals: Health in Emergencies and Refugee Health at Copenhagen School of Global Health


Health in Emergencies and Refugee Health is a blended learning course, with seven weeks of part-time online learning followed by two weeks of full-time studies on the city campus in Copenhagen. The course provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the complex range of issues involved in planning, implementing and accounting for health interventions in contemporary emergencies.

Courses starts on 22 April 2014, and application deadline is on 22 January

Duration:

22 April - 20 June 2014.First seven weeks (22 April - 6 June) is a part-time online course (10 hrs/week) with online lectures, discussions and quizzes, self-study and small assignments. Last two weeks (9 June - 20 June) are full-time lectures, field visits, exercises and exam in Copenhagen.

ECTS credits: 5 ECTS

Assessment Procedures:

Individual 4-hour written exam using essay questions. Grading according to the Danish 7-scale - external moderation.

Prerequisites:

The applicants must live up to the Master of International Health admission criteria.

Class size:

The number of participants is limited to 40. The course may be cancelled if there are less than 12 participants.

TropEd accreditation:

Accredited 2013.

Fees:

Reduced fee: DKK 10,200(For students from EU/EEA or Switzerland).


Normal fee: DKK 15,000 (For all other students).
